Albino gator

From the St. Augustine Alligator Farm, I decided to play with this image some. What do you think?

I like it quite a bit actually. As a reptile lover, I could see having that hung up on a wall.

Beautiful image with great lighting resulting in beautiful tones, I like the treatment overall as well, reminds me of specimen shots, if that makes sense, which lends this an analytical edge which really appeals.

Hi Doug,

Sorry to take so long to respond. The image was shot in RAW and I did the conversion in ACR. There's no exact rule I follow. I'll desat the image and play with the temp and tint as a start. Then I'll fiddle with the contrast, black, and brightness slides until I get near what I want. Then in elements I placed it on a black background and did some other tricks that take too long to explain. Basically I follow a mixed set of steps I learned about through a couple books I've read. The idea is to attempt giving the image some relief, subtly.

I like it. Almost surreal.

Albino.. really cool. If you had not indicated that I would have guessed it was an infrared shot.
