To all,

I've seen that Canon has discontinued the E1 hand strap that can be used with the grips on their SLRs. There is a new E2 but reports are its got a cheaper build.

So now that the BG-E11 is finally beginning to ship does anyone know where they might still have some (ebay ones are all from China)? I know both local camera stores no longer carry them and don't have any stock.

I would follow this thread to see who's got them in stock.

A poster on amazon complained that the ones from cowboy studios had issues. The posted a pick showing that the strap did not fit correctly. Maybe the are counterfeit?

+1 for camdapter strap. Had mine for a long time and it's barely worn down.

Don't believe everything you read. ;). I've used the E1 on every 1 series and never had a problem with it. Also had a Kirk plate on my former 5DII so as to attach the E1. I would never be without one.

Nikon makes a terrific hand strap. I believe that it is called AH-4 hand strap. Made from leather and unfortunately not inexpensive. I liked it better than the Canon hand strap as you can tighten and release it quite easily.

And I hated the over engineered Nikon hand strap that is triple the price, at least. I could never get it large enough
