I have been trying to get a shot like this for the longest time. How dark was it at the time you took the pic? I have a 5D mark II and a 24-70mm Sigma F2.8 lens. I have not tried to do this with this setup but with my T1i i could never get close.

I also have a 50mm 1.8 lens. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

it was DARK...Cherry Springs is the darkest place on the eastern seaboard.

This was taken with my t1i. 50mm 1.8 is too much to do a pano, unless you want a HUGE file.

I will go try it one of these days. The only place I know that would be really dark around me is the beach. Behind all of the tall hotels so they block all of the bright city lights.

Could you explain how you stick them together?
