Do you have anybody helping you with this?

I wish.

The wife helped hold the 8' boards as i cut them on the table saw as they were too long to balance by myself. I did use some saw-horses to rest them on but physically couldnt move them due to the size and weight.

Apart from that, i have done it all myself (even lifting these boards onto the roof, and have the bruises/scratches to prove it).

I noticed you barely left any windows - not big fan of natural light?

I have a 6 foot x 18" one next to the door and a 5 foot x 3 foot half way along the wall to the left (where the sun is).

3/6/12

Busy few days (between showers).
Managed to get the roof felt on. I used a quite thick and expensive felt that was put on using felt adhesive.
This stuff is awfull stuff. Its about as thick as treacle, stinks of bituman and gets everywhere.
Luckily I wore old clothes as they are ruined now.
I bought 4 rolls that were 10mtr x 1mtr. Cut them at 7.5mtr to allow overlap. Then out 2 pieces per side.
They overlapped each other by a couple of inches. I then cut the offcuts in half (giving 3x 2.5 mtr x 500mm). This was used to cover the overlap on the ridge.
I then nailed all joints using large flat headed flet nails about 2-3 inches apart. This too forever as i had 4 rows of 7mtr to do.
I just need to secure the edges better and make some decorative end pieces to go all the way around the shed.

Finished boarding the outside now too.
I di still need to do under the eves, to block the gaps there, but this wont take long.

IMAGE: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v391/PCthug/shed/IMG_0557.jpg

Its looking good and should be a great place to use as a studio.
I still need to put the glazing in each window and put the door on too.
I am in a position to paint in now, but the weather hasnt let off in about 2 or 3 months, with just a dry day (or couple of hours) here and there.

Not too much done today, got one of the double glazed units put in, but when i went to put the long one in (next to the door i shattered it.
I might end up just blocking this up i think.
I also got the door put in but need to edge it to make it look better.

IMAGE: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v391/PCthug/shed/IMG_0561.jpg

I have also put a little flooring down and also my wall mounted studio light stands for the rear studio lights.
You may also be able to see the wall mounted background roll holders too. This will allow a roll 2.5mtr long. Not too bad considering a roll is usually 2.7mtr long, so not losing that much.
There is the 3mtr roll bar on the floor you can see. I will need to chop about 12" off it.

If I were you, I'd keep that long window. It really adds a lot of natural light.
Floors are looking good; don't forget those expansion joints!

I would have liked to have kept it, but it will prove expensive to get a new double glazed unit made to fit it.
I have been looking for another or similar one, but cant find one yet.

Can you not just block it temporary, give you time to keep an eye open on gumtree & ebay?

The wife suggested that and i may do it.
I could even get one smaller as i could easily make it fit if one the correct size doesnt come about.

I will take some more photos today and update later tonight.

Sorry i have not updated in a while, but been busy at work, ran out of cash and reached my upload limit on Photobucket.
Anyway, enough of the excuses, here is the latest instalment...

17/7/12

Been very busy doing small bits and pieces that took loads of time to do without much to show for it.
Eventually had a dry day a week ago when i could get round to painting preservative over the shed. I used Cuprinol Ultimate, that was £30 a tin (but buy 2 get one free). Only managed one coat using a large brush and battled through cramp in my hands in doing so (the joys of getting old).
I think it looks a load better.
The observant of you will notice that after much head scratching i decided on blocking up the window that i smashed. I couldnt find a replacement the correct size or even slightly smaller as this one was very narrow.
This can easily be removed should i find some glass that will fit in the future.

IMAGE: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v391/PCthug/shed/IMG_0579.jpg

I have now wired up the shed using 6x double sockets and put lighting in using 6 halogen spot lights on a double dimmer. There are 2 lights to the front of the shed (near the door) and 4 in the main area. I can turn off the 4 and dim the other 2 when i am using my studio lights.
I have wired it to a fused spur in the conservatory.

IMAGE: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v391/PCthug/shed/IMG_0573.jpg

I have also boxed an area off that can be used for storage or a changing area.

IMAGE: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v391/PCthug/shed/IMG_0570.jpg

I have also strengthened a beam that i can use to hang a punchbag off and it will also 'easily' take my weight.
IMAGE: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v391/PCthug/shed/IMG_0580.jpg

I have fitted a blackout blind to the window that runs behind a chanel to stop any light spillage from the sides.
It is pitch black when its closed (or would be if there wasnt light coming through the door).
IMAGE: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v391/PCthug/shed/IMG_0575.jpg

I have just bought some more laminate flooring that i have partly fitted today after taking the flooring up that can be seen in the photos.
I have also put 2 shelving units together and want to put more wood on the rafters to create a loft space for storage too.

I think when i cover the insides it will start to look much more tidy, but at least it is now in a position where i can start to use it.
In fact i have a friend coming over on Friday for a shoot, so will post my first photos when i have taken them.
