Barred Owl

I received a call from a friend there a couple of barred owls in a park. I checked the area and found some baby bunnies running around eating grass. Thay are just so cute. Near the trees we saw a dead baby bunny and up in the branches were the 2 barred owls. After a while one of the owls flew to a lower branch to our delight. It was so close I actually have to back off to get the full owl in the frame.

Because of the busy background I decided to crop the pics a little bit tighter :)

Wow, are you some kind of bird whisperer Jodelak? How in the world you get him to come down even closer? Did you bring a bunny suit? :D
Great great shots of the owl!

Thanks Jason, I think the Florida barred owls have wider or bigger stripes which makes them a little bit darker.

Thanks Mike, but not so close to NV. Some people said that these 2 owls had taken residence in this park, so better check Minoru Park in Richmond :)

Wonderful shots Jo, I hear owls a lot down here, but have never been fortunate to locate them.

Thanks Mark, the credit goes to the barred owl, honestly I was actually about to leave and then the barred owl flew to a lower branch :)

Thanks Sharon! The wild rabbits in the park brought the owls, and if you know a place where there are voles or rabbits activities, they could be there lurking :)

Thanks Craig, I have to mention that before the owl flew to the lower branch, it made a series of hooting calls. It's very loud and very cool!
