This review focuses on the sharpness (including edges) and IQ of both lenses. Other reviews have already gone into the Tamron's other virtues so I didn't feel a need to go there.

The Tamron seems impressive and this seems to agree with the lensrental tests as well. 6D, 5D, 7Dii, Eos R and too many lenses, flashes and aux. gear to list!

I own the 28-75 and never had the urge to get the Canon equivalent. IS is not important to me in this focal range. I would love to see a comparison between the 28-75 and this newer 24-70, as far as IQ. Bohdan - I may be, and probably am, completely wrong.
