One of my favorite colors is a nice warm orange, like the embers of a dying fire. It should be no surprise then that the Blackburnian Warbler is among my favorite of birds.
Today after being rather cooped up by the weather for much of the week I decided to head out, clouds or no. I had no sooner reached my favorite trail when this fellow landed directly ahead of me, at eye level. Maybe he felt sorry for me, all the other times I had tried to get a shot and failed....whatever the reason, this time he was most cooperative...You just never know!

Gorgeous shots Mike, needless to say, this is one species that I've never been fortunate to see in person.

Excellent set of the "fire throat" Mike... just getting them out of the tree heights on a lower branch is a task in it's self ;) Fine shooting.

Great series of one of my 'top five' warblers, and at an angle I infrequently observe them, they're usually waaayy up there.
