Pink Flower

I took a picture of a Cherry Cheesecake Rhododendron and I like the colors, but it was no where near worth printing out. I decided to do some editing in Photoshop to see if I can get this flower to look a little more interesting for print.

Here is what I came up with. What do you all think?

Your composition is better in the second shot but I like the first image better in terms of finish.

I would clone the background stalk in the background, but I would not mirror the flower - natural is better

Agreed! I like the color and finish in the first pic better, just crop in a little closer on the flower.

your use of the mirror portion was a little to "over the top"...better to add existing petals, taken from here and there, to replace defects. The same applies to the background.

I like the look of the natural flower and the processing. Im not sure that there is anything in nature that is purely symmetrical. Great colors in that flower.

Both are beautiful in there own way IMO... Put in the right space either could look stunning

I wasn't really going for a natural look with the edited picture, more towards a abstract painting that kinda pops out with color, but still resembles a flower.
I should have mentioned that in the original post

To me, the flowers look nice, but the leaves are so all over the place, so there isn't a real good composition that is worthy for printing out to hang on a wall, so I went for the abstract painting affect.
With the painting affect, I can move leaves around and remove the brown stems because the detail isn't as noticeable as it is with a normal image.
But I think I will just remove the brown stem, since with it removed, the flower pops out allot more.

I prefer the first image also. You might try to darken and desaturate the greens some to reduce the neon look of the grass and to make it less prominent.

At first that is what I already did, but then I edited to what I posted. That's why the abstract greens are not as bright.
