Has anyone bought and used the Canon HF-DC1 flash?

I recently purchased an SD550, but would like a little more "oomph" in the flash department.

Curious if anyone has used one and what your impressions are? More range, less red eye?

Interesting design, it is a slave, not actually connected to the onboard flash, but triggered by it.
