Stolen Equipment

If anyone in the UK is offered a suspicious Canon 5DmkII, 35L, 24-70L, Sigma 12-24 or Fuji X100 (both cameras minus chargers) please let me know. All these items plus many other items were stolen from my house on Sunday at lunchtime.

had a guy offer me a 50d with a 50 1.8 in a walmart parking lot for $700, I asked him to see it and he handed me the camera in a bag with no charger or anything.... I asked about the charger and if he had the manual and he said he lost it..... so like a pro I pull out my iphone and say I just want to run the serial number to see if it has warranty (bullsh&^) and he freaks and tries to grab the bag!!! I hold it and tell him that I am an undercover cop that is going to need him to calm down and he just runs like a guy on fire... so I sit in a parking lot with a stolen cam and just drive off.
I go to the camera shop that is maybe 3 blocks away and thinking I will ask if anyone had a 50d stolen, this young guy says a guy came in at 9am asking if anyone is looking to buy a charger for a stolen 50d and that his was stolen from a park a day ago.

camera shop calls the guy and no $hit this guy shows up with serial number of this cam!!!!

guy buys me an 8 gig sandisk card as a thank you and says I have huge balls for what I did ..

I hope to never lose a camera in this way and hope you get your stuff returned or at least replaced with little or no cost to you.

Did you register your serial numbers with Canon? It's free and they can get an alert if somebody tries to re-register a stolen SN.
