Thanks, Mike, for the win. Jay, your prop photo...well, I'm guessing most everyone here would be willing to give a body part for a chance to shoot such a remarkable image. Bravo to you, sir. Teekay, ol' friend, pleasure to share the nod with you. I recently wrestled with some waterlilies too and it was all I could do to control them being blown out. Nice shooting.

Everyone, Mo, with the whale...geesh...these were all awesome images in their own right. You folks bring on a game.

I'll be back in the morning with something, I have no idea what, but I'll figure out something.

Great job everybody!

Nice P-51. I'm a bit of a WWII plane nut and I love that shot!!

Kevan. Great shot. How did you work the lighting on that if I may ask?

Wow Jay! I had no idea. I love your site. I wish I had the skills to take such great shots of planes. I live right next to Paine field in Everett Washington and there are a lot of great planes flying around here. I've been meaning to get a shot of the Dream Lifter, but everytime I see it flying around I don't have my camera :( A lot of old collections up here too.

Thanks very much... Crosswind Images is still pretty new to the wider world but I'm sneaking in through the odd open door from time to time. ;)

I know several of the more active aviation shooters in the PNW. If you're on Facebook, you may want to visit: Pacific Northwest Aviation Photographers (external link).

You may already know some of them... :D

Another avenue you might explore is ISAP (International Society for Aviation Photography) at www.aviationphoto.org (external link) ISAP is by, for and about the very best in aviation shooting. You'll find me proudly in the mix there as well!

I have a good friend who has turned her life into the making of jewelry and such. This particular item qualifies as a such. It's a litte plaque based on a Klimt illustration. There's a little mirror inset that did the glinking. She asked me to do a shoot of it and so we met along the shoreline to do the shot amongst the rocks, this being one in the series. It was a cold but brilliant day back in March, I think. I simply leaned so that the sun's reflection caught the mirror. My bad, I left my UV filter on which likely contributed to creating that small lens flare.

There you have it. Thanks all.

Congratulations, Kevan (would have been my choice, too) and thanks for the #3 spot, Pappa!

I also really liked the quiet beauty of Flo's boating shot at Cortes, one of my favourite Gulf Islands.
