I'll be in Portland, OR (Seattle and Vancouver) at the end of this month.
How does this route
look? Anything good to shoot in that route? I'd like to shoot fall colors.

If you can make the time, extend it by another couple of hours and drive over Mt Hood to hook up to 26. Lots of beautiful views and you can hit a couple of farmstands on the way for the greatest pears in the world!

I may not have enough time to make it to Mt. Hood but I'll leave that option open. I see you live in Portland. Let me ask this if you don't mind, is the Japanese garden fall foliage near its peak now?

Pretty much there. We're getting some sun and cold nights so the leaves are really starting to turn everywhere. I haven't been over that way in a couple of weeks but suspect they're on about the same schedule as over here in ne PDX.

Lots of beautiful views and you can hit a couple of farmstands on the way for the greatest pears in the world! I got back from my vacation yesterday. You're right Scott. That route is fantastic. I was so amazed with the beauty. I stopped every few mile to take pictures. The beautiful scenery, waterfalls and streams pretty much held me up the whole day and left me no time to continue to Mt. Hood. The weather wasn't that good the day I was there (rainy morning) but at least the rain stopped the minute I arrived at the Vista house. The rest of the day was cloudy but no rain.

Nov 04, 2013 12:41 | #23 Glad it worked out for you on the gorge. I was up that way yesterday myself. It was off and on rainy, but it's so pretty you find a way to get the shot anyhow!

I got about 30GB of RAW+JPG photos to sort through now. I have not had time edit my shots. I don't even remember what I took, LOL. Wanted to edit them at night during my vacation but I was extremely exhausted by the time the day ended.
