Hey guys, I recently found a deal that I am really interested in. However the seller is overseas (I'm in NYC and he's in Spain) and to ensure the safety of both him and me, he wants to use a delivery system called 'B.D.E.S Delivery.' I've never heard of this before and I wanted to make sure if this was legit or if this is a potential scam, because I'm buying $1500+ worth of camera equipment from him (i.e. a Leica). I've tried googling but nothing comes up, which kind of adds to my suspicion.

Here's the rules and guidlines (external link)

I'd just pass it up.

Well, since Google shows nothing, I'd tend to agree to avoid it.

That link you posted doesn't show a Web site, no links, that's another thing I'd be suspicious of.

There are ways people do ship overseas, but I've never done it. I've had people try to scam me, no fun!

Thanks guys, I guess I'll pass on this. It was too good of a deal anyway.

If google comes up with nothing, then it isn't legit. Google helped me avoid getting scammed a couple of weeks ago. I googled the guy's email address and found other people were scammed with the same email address.

To "ensure the safety" of both of you, it would have to be some kind of escrow service. I wouldn't use any escrow service that didn't have a well-established, verifiable reputation.

Run away.

I have three rules for buying used equipment.
1. Never buy used equipment
2. Never buy used equipment that I haven't held in my hand.
3. Never agree to terms that I never heard of.

Thanks to #1, I never have to face #2 and #3. The probability of getting scammed or receiving stolen or broken goods is beyond my threshold of willing to gamble.

How come this guy can't sell a Leica locally? Leica fanboys are everywhere.
