Gels w/ Softbox

I have a 430ex and some gels, and just bought an Aurora Firefly softbox.
If I attached say a CTO warming gel to my flash, and fired it using the Firefly, would the effect be about the same (colour wise) as using the bare flash? Does anybody else do that here?

The only difference should be with the color the SB diffuser imparts, but it is what it is.
