There are no 135mm f1.4 lenses, that was a typo. You have a 135mm f3.5.

Good catch, my bad, I've fixed the typo.

On a side note, the adapter comes in tomorrow or Friday.

I can't wait to play with the lenses!

:)

I love my vintage M42 glass, I took these Monday with my Soligar 135 f/3.5. I actually find it easier to shoot many subjects with these lenses than AF glass, they make you take the time to think about your setup before clicking away.

I didn't read all the replies, but you should be fine with pretty much all m42 glass on canon crop bodies, its the full frame bodies that pose problems.

A 135mm f1.4 lens would be very impressive, very fat, and very expensive.

Yeah, I was pretty excited.

I just got a Bower/Rokinon/Samyang 85 1.4 and the EE-S focus screen. Works great. I also have a manual focus 100-300 f4 and 200 2.8 in the mail and am excited to try more of the older lenses.

I use a some M42 lenses. Most times on a EOS 5D, but sometimes on a normal EOS crop camera. On the 5D with EE-S screen I could focus fast lenses very well - on the unmodified crop camera it is hard.
My favorit is the Meyer Goerlitz Trioplan 100mm f/2.8 lens with its fantastic bokeh. Some of my best pictures are made with this old and sometimes very cheap lens (with only 3 lenses inside).
