LR4 is generally pretty good about compression, crazy file sizes! EDIT: There must have been a lot going on in the photo. Not at all. They're snaps of the camp site at midday.

What are you up to Julian?I think the GPU concern is legitimate. At over twice the resolution of a 1920x1080 display, I wonder how well the GT650M will hold up. Will | WilliamLiuPhotography.com

At over twice the resolution of a 1920x1080 display, I wonder how well the GT650M will hold up. Look at the iPad 3rd Gen. It doesn't really run graphics intensive apps any faster than the iPad 2 even though it has a huge graphics processor upgrade because it has way more pixels to drive. I would have really liked Apple to go with a "enthusiast" GPU, but that might have generated too much heat and cost even more. Actually the iPad 3 does have an increased benefit in that the upgrade to 1gb of video memory and extra bandwidth means it got a much better fill rate. It's likely not noticeable now but as apps dig further in to maximize potential I think you'll see a ton more capabilities. Shawn | Flickr

As for the 650M it'll handle it just fine as it's the GDDR5 model and you're really dealing with a base res of 1440x900 which is nothing for a 1gb GPU. I'd venture in gaming it'd do just fine under boot camp as well because Windows should just downscale to 1920x1200 as the max res and the 650M should perform better than the previous gen ATI cards. It may not be a mobile GTX680 but it's not stuffed in a laptop big enough to crush a puppy ![]() We shall see, if I bought a 2880x1800 resolution screen I'd want to run it at that, not 1920x1200. My friends set up their hammocks by the water. According to them it is very comfy to sleep in. You can also see the black hammock on the right of the image.
Love the details in the larger sizes. -Omar- Flickr

Your GPU is always being put to work. The GPU is what drives the pixels on your screen, whether you are gaming or not. It is not a matter of gaming for me, who games on a Mac anyways? It is a matter of smooth and elegant user experience. Crap ton of pixels can hurt the experience if the GPU cannot keep up. I think the GT650M should be ok most of the time though.
