yeap... I have 2 brand new D525MW here and both won't recognize any of the 3 HDD's... they can't see them.

the only thing that I have no substitute for is the single 2GB 1333 ram that I am using. although it doesn't seem like its a problem since the Bios detects it.

Do other computers recognize the HDD's? Will those boards recognize any other HDD's?

Are they hooked up correctly? getting enough power? etc.

You know they needed to leave something for next year  Retina on the MBA will be a killer product!

Yeah.. yeah...

Yeah.. yeah...

yes, I tested 2 of those HDD's on another computer and the computer recognizes them. today I brought 2 of my HDD from the phantom to test it out too. but I am not positive it would detect them.

regarding Power, the cable I use was the one that powers the side fan of the case so I know it has power.

hehehe... well its not a downside if she only have to fork out $900 instead of $2100++

and yes, Moko sent the laptop to Woodside already, it will probably arrive there tomorrow and will arrive to me in about a week or so. :D Not sure how the 95% Gamut Matte display would compare to those old MBP screens

That is a huge savings! Just in case since my screen is the antiglare screen it doesnt have that black shiny gloss. It has a nice silver outline which is the same color as the rest of the mac. Looks like this:

I like the matte/Anti-glare screen... Moko disagrees  that looks awesome Omar, I don't think I have seen anything like that here. I always see the glossy one, It's nice but gets very distracting sometimes

I love it :D I used the glossy version at the store and it pissed me the hell off! I had to work so hard to get rid of reflections by shifting it around. Very annoying. With the antiglare no such worries :D

Are you using a molex connector?

These aren't SATA hdd's?

Or are you running an adapter?

all are SATA HDD's... and yes I use an adapter for the power from Molex to the SATA like power port on the HDDs.

I have swapped a few SATA cables already although yeah I did not check the adapters. is there no other cause for the MB to not see the HDD? like BIOS settings and stuff? no wonder I am baffled

There is no reason I can think of. So that's why I'm thinking the hdd isnt spinning up right.

ok now that it's clear... I will try and see if I could use another connector or something or probably just install this set up on another case and see what happens :D

Thanks..I'll get back to you later :D

The other thing is like plug the power in from the phantom and then the data cable to the itch board and then boot them up at the same time.

Let me know if a new adapter works though. I'll keep thinking about it as well.
