Why not go to an Ivy league school? They have an abundance of wealth and access to an extensive alumni network which they tap for all kinds of resources which aid students. They might work very hard but they party just as hard as well

Yeah grades and an exam score dont cut it. Def get on that track team. It shows commitment to not just yourself and others. Also, stay on it. Dont quit as it will reflect bad. My only knock on Temple University is the neighborhood it sits in. I have visited the school and lets just say it isnt the most welcoming area.

Exactly! Same thing happened to my sister even though i warned her. You need to do things outside of the classroom. Universities love to speak about their students are doing and they hope you will continue that for them.

Go for a lacrosse scholarship JakE!

Yup... people don't listen for some reason. You can lead a horse to water...

You are speaking about Queensborough community college?

If the financials made sense i would have gone to an IVY without even thinking about. But it is more important you go to a top ranked school in what you want to do. Now 99% of people are getting jobs out of Penn State? What economy? Considering Penn State graduates a ton of people a year i know for sure 99% of them arent getting jobs. Now if you are speaking about a specific major which is a specialty i might believe it but not general graduation rates.

It might have been internships, I don't remember correctly about that. But regarding my major I want to go into actuarial sciences which has an unemployment rate of 0.000 something %. I remember reading a junior in college had about 3 job offers lined up for her  Just wanna make note that not even ivy league schools are credited centers of excellence, but penn state has the highest amount of people that major in that major with the most amount of people who pass the test (100/year) unfortunately it's a 10 year course basically and isn't easy either but it's heavily math oriented. If I do decide to peruse that major I'll be set though!

And I was talking about Nassau Community college.

 I would only be able to get a bench scholarship... the reason why I quit was because I never was played. Lets not get into that now though ;)

0% unemployment in your field of choice - aka - major?

What would that be?

Actuarial Sciences. It may not be 0% but it's 0 point something.

Mind you, it's a grueling major. 10 years of 10 tests from what I know, and it is insane mathematics.

That is why i mentioned a specific major. I would choose a top ranked school in a specific program over an IVY league...as long as it is also well rounded. But if an IVY league is ranked in the top 5 for that major then i would go to the ivy league hands down.

Isn't Queensborugh ranked higher than Nassau overall. It has been for the last few years due to it's low cost and excellent education value. Trust me i was shocked when i found that out  For business and staying local you just cant beat Baruch College. Had it been that well ranked when i was coming out of high school i would have gone there. The tuition is dirt cheap and the education is top flight.

Actually they are consistently ranked as the top 10 jobs in the US! It usually places as #1-3. You work in a good environment, virtually no stress (when you get the job that is ).

Oh yeah! Definitely! I am going to be visiting Baruch sometime this summer as well! I also forgot to include them as they are cheap and do have actuarial science as a major! But yeah, for an overall rounded education an ivy > most schools. If I do go to Baruch that would be awesome as I can live in the city as well as have an insane amount of fun :D

My GF graduated from Baruch three years ago this may with a Statistics degree. She had trouble not finding a job but which one to take  Their reputation has grown incredibly in the last 10 years. Truly amazing. I am even thinking about going there for an MBA

Oh yeah! And Acturial sciences is a business major as del, so if I do go there I shouldn't have trouble finding a job, actually, if you have a degree in actuarial science you shouldn't have an trouble finding a job.
