Prejudices against Nikon here. We have thousands of picture sharing threads but a Nikon version gets closed. It's rather sad really. "Hate" has many faces.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it. Nikon shooters can post their shots in many of the picture threads. It wouldn't make much sense to post pics in camera specific threads but in the other ones there is no rule against it (I don't think). The difference between those picture sharing threads and Julian's is Nikon being in the title. So then the thread gets closed because of a brand name or because it's too general and we have a thread that covers that already? If a thread was opened up saying "Post your Nikon D800 shots" would that get closed because of brand name or stay open because it's a pic sharing thread dedicated to a specific camera? If it gets closed because of a brand name in the "general photography" section then I don't know what it would be called expect "hate".

The mods are pretty explicit about what is and isn't allowed. They have rules threads in every section, and boy are there a lot of rules. If they say no nikon-specific threads, that's just how it is When people don't follow the rules, even regular members get annoyed. I especially dislike stupid pricing comments in most every "sell" thread!!

I may not know as much as you but I do know at the top it says Canon Digital Photography Forums. Unless I'm not understanding that completely them I see why they would not allow a Full Nikon thread...

I'm hoping that the new forum which is taking forever btw, will hopefully have a dedicated area for it. In other words, seperation of gear talk, photos, and duscussion.

I would wonder with a new section for nikon talk would the forum become more segregated, or would the forums get more hostile.

Not everyone does the trash talking is joking unfortunatly

Dan, there a lot of things on this forum that don't make sense but, I rarely ever question it. We're just guests here and Pekka has the final say on anything.

This is the last bastion of Canon supremacy Other forums (like FM/dpreview) cater to everybody--a lot of people will be upset if the nikonians are allowed in. And then the Olypus, hasselhoff (hehe), and Sony/Pentax people will be in here...

I'm not complaining. All I said was that my thread got locked. Am I suppose to cry? If I was angry there would be a ton of angry emoticons. It takes a lot to piss me off. Do I have to explain it in sign language to you?
