I just got another 600EX-RT primary b/c I was intrigued by the radio triggering and thought it would be neater to have another one and use the built-in triggering to do some quick and dirty OCF work. I need to RTFM on the thing. I was playing around with it at the wedding and was literally lost on how to lower the power on the slave unit while increasing power on the master unit.

May 29, 2012 15:02 | #8 fontanka wrote in post #14501229 a quick question, if I may: do you have any feedback on how distractive it is for guests to have flash stands nearby on the reception? I can't bring myself to use them even though it means much better quality/less pp work as I had a feedback from shooting weddings as a 2nd shooter back in a day, that it really bugs people sitting nearby. So overall trade in is convenience for guests/clients on the wedding day vs less desirable quality of the images after all. I usually put the light stands by the walls/corners of the room or right next to the DJ/band speakers so it doesn't get in the way. If there's even a remote chance of someone tripping over the stands, I won't put it at that location. I also have them at least 10 feet high, again, so it doesn't bother the guests too much. I've never had that problem with this setup.
