and i don't mean i can't log on, i mean it shows as if the site was down or there was no internet connection (i of course have an internet connection)

i tested going to and from work (different IP's) and i have no problems at home. At work, all other sites are fine

Your office probably uses an ISP that Pekka's firewalled due to excessive spam attacks. Best I can suggest is that you let the ISP know that they're getting identified as a significant source of spam, so web sites are blocking them. Maybe they'll actually try doing something from their end if they get enough flak about it.

Yep. Some subnets are worse than others.

As Jon said. I've also heard from a couple of members that PLDT's IP range are being blocked.

that sucks since we PLDT users have dynamic IP, so we have no control on what IP we get nor what the previous user of the IP did with spamming and such.

I made some changes to that area to cover spammer ip ranges more precisely. Please try it now.

Your workplace has not put POTN on a banned list has it? My workplace has a list of sites that cannot be accessed, like Ebay, Carsales, Hotmail, etc etc and etc. When the IT people see a lot of activity on a particular site they lock staff out of it. Some heavy users have only been given access to work related sites and that is all they can open.

Just remember that if the spammers move the IP space they use, we'll take action against their new home(s) too. It's a never-ending fight, unfortunately often with collateral damage.

aka: Friendly Fire

I'm glad to see the admin team and Pekka keeping tabs on this sort of thing. If not, everyone's POTN experience would be much worse.
