I already sent Canon an email about this to see if they think I should send the camera in or not - but I figured I would post it here to see if anyone has had a similar issue with their 5D3.

During an engagement shoot this past weekend, I noticed 2 files seemed corrupt. I copy full RAW files to both the CF and SD cards, and the same images on both cards look the same way. They appear the same when reviewed on the camera LCD as they do in the screen shot below.

Luckily the 2 photos are throw-aways anyway, but it could have easily been an important moment during a wedding.

The issue was fixed with the firmware upgrade.

Hm... I'd have to double check the camera but I'm pretty sure they're all running 1.1.2 (which I believe is the latest).

Just checked, the cameras all have the latest firmware.

What's interesting is that the two images actually seem like they're both the same. The photo was part of a sequence and when I flip back and forth between these two, they're exactly the same. Weird.

It is weird as it's in the list

But this says:

I didn't have the power turned off or anything - I was in the middle of a sequence of 20 images.

Looks like a file writing issue to me. Since the images seems to be overlapped. Though it could be you just found another issue with the new firmware. If so congrats, you have now be first to wait for the new firmware.

I ran into a similar issue a few weeks ago also. Latest firmware, images 8 and 9 out of 11 shots.

I'm kinda sure it's a memory card problem, not the camera

Try to replace the memory card and see how it goes

I'd agree with you if the images on both the CF and SD card weren't the same.

If it's only happened the one time, I wouldn't be panicking too much. Let's not throw out the baby with the bathwater.

They're not exactly the same. The strip at the top is different.

I have this pink cast with RAW file when using the default win7 viewer once in a while but LR shows it fine. It only happened with Raw and not JPG.

I have the same issue when viewing the raw files in picasa, win 7. LR shows them correct.

But the OP says they look like that in the camera, so I'm not sure its the same.
