Okay I have been searching this forum for awhile now seeing what people like in wide angle lens so I seem to see some trends( Tokina 12-24 f/4) and then some other recommendations.

Basicily I am doing indoor photography of house remodels and outside lanscape and then whatever else that I feel like doing for fun.

SO, can everyone post up a sample pic of what your wide angle lens shoots and what you do or don't like about it..

thanks,
rinn

The last four on this page (external link) were taken with my Tokina 12-24. I think everything on this page (external link) was to.

The Tokina's great, there are two things that could be improved:
- It's easy to scratch the lens with the lens cap if you're not careful.
- I wish it was F2.8.

Here's an indoor example from my Sigma 10-20mm and Canon 20D -

I love the lens, the build quality is brilliant, it focuses smoothly and quickly and is very very sharp. Like tim it would be nice if this lens was f/2.8 or faster but then it would be monstrously expensive so I don't mind.

Rinn,

I have owned the Canon 10-22mm EF-S for about six months now and I really enjoy using it. Here are two samples made at 10mm.

Enjoy,

Jim

Here's Dale Earnhart Jr's garage with him in the car... I was doing some shooting for a magazine. I had to have a REALLY wide lens to get this much of the garage in the frame. I was really quite close and it was cramped and frantic...

All pics taken with 20D & EF-s 10-22 mm. Its very good lens, but most of the times 10 mm end is just too wide for everything. But distortion can give some interesting effects.

The fishy effect doesn't work with all subject matter and can be overdone, but it's certainly OK for this type of interior shot. This is shot on a 1D.
