This guy was sitting on a curb right outside when I went to retrieve mail. The grass behind the hawk is what you see in the next shot right outside my door :)

Haha, plenty more where that came from... :-)

I like where you live. I think it's time to move from Florida. (Seriously considering Colorado Springs.)

Well, come on out! We're just on the west side of Pikes Peak. About an hour out of the Springs.

The west side is colder, right?

We're at higher elevation, so yeah, we're cooler.

July average temps in the Springs are around 85*/57*, while we average around 75*/49*.

January averages in the Springs are 43*/18*, and we're averaging 33*/13*.

And no traffic. :-)

Good bit of info. I think I will visit the "warmer" side. Thanks.

Colo Springs?? Naw come on over to the west side of the state. Get away from all of those people, much better weather.

Plus you can buy my place  Just siting empty since the move to Fl.

So you moved from Colorado to Florida and I am considering moving from Florida to Colorado. Which one of us has it wrong? Or, are both of us right? Different perspective?

I wonder if I could deal with the colder weather on the west side.

Yep and the freight company's laughing all the way to the bank! As my dad once said everyplace sucks..they all just suck differently. :-)
In my case it involved selling a company, and staying to train new people. All family long since buried..many smaller reasons. There is always a story involved.

So if anybody is serious about moving it always revolves around a job first, then all the stuff that seems important. Weather wise the west does have much better weather. The South east corner gets colder but has so much more wind that it feels a lot worse.

Here is a snapshot with a old camcorder I think. I was unloading firewood in the backyard. This one could not be bothered to move..
So just like Florida your neighbors watch you like a hawk..
