It's just about that time again, time to buy more ink for the Epson 3800. To this point I have only used Epson OEM Ink. I am curious about some of the other inks out there and if it is worth trying any of them. ConeColor has peaked my interest as they claim that existing ICC profiles for the Epson Inks and papers will still match (I am somewhat dubious) and they have a small library of their own ICC profiles as well. I have also looked at InkRepublic's system. Curious if anyone on here with a 3800 uses either of these inks with existing profiles and what they have found or if most people stick with the Epson inks which are fairly costly.

RIHAC (external link) is a good brand, I use their CIS.

Yes, Epson is costly. Approx. $450-$500 for a set for my 3800 is a bit much (I buy from atlex, btw.). However, nothing matches the performance, quality, and especially the archival ratings of the epson inks. It's worth the money IMHO.

I'm thinking of going Epson at least one more time then maybe trying the Cone Inks. My next question was of course, has anyone found a cheaper supplier for Epson inks? Where is everyone buying their inks? I have been using B&H but they are definitely not the cheapest.
