Your thoughts on Bogen / Manfrotta 3001BD

I want to know your thoughts on this tripod 3001BD. I already own the 3021 with an Arca-Swiss ballhead and the short center column. It works great for me.

Now for the 3001BD, I am looking at it as a light day hike tripod that can be attached to my Tamrac backpack. I can also switch out my center from my 3021 to it and also save $$$ that way.

Anyone have the 3001? Let me know your comments and suggestions.

I don't have it, but the weight looks good - nice and light. It's capacity should be capable of dealing with all the lenses I see in your signature. The 70-200 will present the greatest challenge, but I think that as long as you've got a good head and reasonably flat ground, that won't be a problem either. JMHO.

The 3001BD replaces the 3001. I think you'll find a lot of people here who are happy with that tripod. It's one of the most popular ones on this forum - though this is just me guessing by the number of times I hear about the 3001.
