My daughter Ruby had to dress in Red/White/Blue today for the Queen's Diamond jubilee at school (they are on holiday now, so they had their parties today). I took her to the studio for a couple of shots because I thought she looked nice...Ruby likes to pose, but will never do as she's told...so I got what I could!

I think Ruby posed very well. Cute kid. Nice shots. Maybe a little too much headroom in first & last.

Thank you...Ruby would like to be a ballet dancer, but she's a little to "heavy2 on her feet! :)

Thank you. Agreed about the headroom. I do the same crops to most of my studio stuff...the few customers I have, it makes it easier when they ask for prints. I do need to vary the crops a little, and less headroom would help. :)

Your background lights are too hot.

2 stops between the main light and the BG. Thought that was the rule of thumb?

I needed to adjust some of the levels, like in the blacks as you say. A missing step in the processing there.
Where would you be looking for the blacks, though? The pupils? Nothing else is black in the picture anyway...:)

#2 is really cute, and includes the British aspect so much better with the face painting. It captures what a little kids likes to look like! Nice images.

Thank you. She loves dressing up, of course. :)
