Let me know what you guys think of these shots. Took them last night with a buddy of mine, and almost got ticketed for being out on the rocks  Cops had to try to make their quotas somehow.

Very nice indeed. Why would the cops care about you being on the rocks?

Apparently the park/rocks close at 9pm, and they were pissed because nobody that was on the rocks had their IDs on them. A majority of people left them in our car because we wouldn't want something to happen and have our wallets fall into the water. They made us go to the car and get them, and they were writing out lots of tickets, but thankfully my PBA card saved my and my friends asses lol

hmm. just curious, is that the Verrazano Bridge??
At that angle it looks like the rocks on the side of the BQE highway.

anyway, amazing hot. love the color on the bridge shot.

Love the color on #2 and would also be interested in where these were taken.
What is the light streak (center right) on #1?

Looks like the Throgs Neck Bridge a favorite subject of mine although in never had a visit from the police. I think the streak is a plane landing at LaGuardia airport .Great capture.

Nice exposures, well done! I really like #1 for the gradient you got across the water. Very nice.

As for the cops.. WTF! I can understand being in a park after close and being questioned...but if you have thousands of $ worth of camera gear on a tripod aimed at the bridge and you are respectful to the cops then WTF is their problem? It's ovbious what you are there for. I grew up in a town of bored cops about 1/1000 the size of NY and I still had to deal with the "WTF you doing after hours?" accusation from here to there. The only crooked B.S. I came across was when I got ticketed for "trespassing" at 17 when I was not. The court ruled in my favor because of my demeanor. Always stay calm if you come across an ******* cop and they will never have anything to use against you as long as you are being legit and respectful for the most part. That's still some B.S. Though! This is America! park closed or not!

Mrsancheezz it's the Throgs Neck Bridge, and thank you :-)
Russ925 These were taken at Fort Totten, it is the Bell Blvd exit on the Cross Island (last exit before the bridge if you're coming from Long Island). Thanks.
cgen1 Thanks, the beach shots were taken at Jones Beach, on Long Island. More specifically at Field 10 in case anybody is looking to go. The light streak was a plane taking off, if I was better at cloning I'd get rid of it but I didn't see it killing the picture so I decided to just leave it.
subway surfer Thanks. I would have never expected it but then when I heard the "Let's go off the rocks" screaming from the base of them, and a flashlight being pointed, I figured it wasn't going to end well. Right you are about the plane too :-)
Staticmedia Much appreciated, it's crazy how the bridge illuminated the water so much. The cops were just looking for their end of the month tickets and probably figured since it was a nice night, they'd come by and get a bunch of people there. I thought the guy was going to take away my PBA card, and was shocked when he gave it back and didn't give us any tickets.

The kind of funny part about the cops coming was the alternative location for us to go shoot that night was Kings Park, an abandoned insane asylum out on Long Island, but we decided not to because we didn't want to deal with any cops or have any problems. Maybe we would have had better luck there lol

I don't care for #1. It doesn't look real to me. Also don't care for the light streaks in the sky.

I LOVE #2, however. I'd put that on my wall.

erikfig Thanks. I just used my good old 18-55 (With a B&W 10 stop ND filter for #2). For all the bashing it gets for being a kit lens, it is more than capable if used correctly (Although I'm sure my opinion would change after I used a 17-55 lol).
photoguy6405 Appreciate both comments very much. Anything specifically that makes it look fake to you? Or anything to improve on with the photo? I've been thinking about blowing up that beach shot also to frame it. Gotta see with that one.

Very nice...I like them both and I would hang either one. I think what appears to be a jet trail, adds to the photo. Looks like they made a u-turn!
