I'm surprised they have lasted this long. Wouldn't you know it, I decide to go with a 5D Classic for a back up and now there are 5D II's everywhere.:)

I can't remember the model of the old Canon I have at home or I'd call right now.
Nobody is home to look for me either.
So mad, I've been waiting for this for weeks!

TBH I would just call anyway, see if they'll let it slide. You have to return the camera in question to get the discount, anyway.

Already on the phone now ;)

However, they require a serial number to place the order...dang

Edit: My CSR is awesome! Let me place the order anyways and I just have to call back shortly with the serial # to finish the order :) :) :)

5D2 = $1490.xx after tax

I'm pretty happy

FYI - They had 15 left in stock at the time I called (about 10 mins ago)

at this price..even if something new comes out in a year..everyone should be able to resell it back with very little loss. i mean it's $1000 cheaper than someone who bought it new..say 6 months ago.

because you can get a "like new" 5d2 for $1500 shipped. Even if you didn't want the camera, you could buy it, flip it and resell it for $1700-1800 maybe more on these forums in a matter of hours.

What kind of condition and clicks are people seeing on these recently? I've seen reports of anything from basically new to found on a construction site and not cleaned up.

Got one with ~ 30 clicks on it a couple of weeks ago. With the mass quantities that seem to suddenly available, I wonder how many can just be store overstocks vs actually used returns.
