Waves in the clear, fresh water. Look at the picture and notice the effect of these gentle waves, the rhythm and dynamics. The effect of water, fresh, invigorating. Actually a pretty picture.

...

And then there is something that changes the visual effect (at least for me) massively: the nice waves have an insect at the epicenter, struggling for mere survival. A beetle landed in the water and can’t lift of again. He kicks, rows, fights … and he will lose. Each wave is an expression of his desperate struggle. Each wave is a symbol of the attempt to escape death. And in the end it becomes more quiet, the waves follow in slower rhythms and eventually it gets all quiet.

For hundreds of insects their life path ended in this way, on this beautiful day in the pool “Weyermannshaus”. Far too many, as I might have saved them. So all I could do is to send them good wishes for the transition and to use the time to find myself in this picture. To recognize my waves … and to know that my waves will be silenced one day too.

Enjoy the world, at any moment.
