Great shots everyone. Here are some from tonight. Just testing out the 14-24mm. The dynamic range on this camera saves me from having to use Graduated filters. All of these shots are single raw.

Wow!

Testing the D800 in harsh lighting conditions. The 4FPS wasn't too bad, then again it was just T ball!

D800, 70-200mm f/2.8 VR1, ISO 100

Incredible rodizzle, those are really sweet T-ball shots! Incredibly cute. :D

And people say that the VR1 is rubbish? Your images are great. Id say its on par with the older Canon 70-200 f/2.8 L IS mkI... How do you like it on the D800? Are these cropped images?

My name is Andrew and I like Canon's!!!

It's a very good lens which has always been classified as on par with the Canon MK I. The Nikon VR I was reported to be sharper than the Canon in the center but suffered a bit more than the Canon in the corners. Both the Nikon and Canon were always highly regarded lenses.

The only thing IQ-wise I'm aware of that the VR II improved was the corner performance. For what I shoot I've never really noticed the corner softness and vignetting "issues". Maybe I'm just not picky enough :)
