Fascinating Beetle Collection

A co-worker allowed me the opportunity to photograph his extensive beetle collection last night...what a treat! He also took me over to his father's home and allowed me to photograph some of the thousands of butterflies his dad had collected over the last 50 years...amazing.

Below is one of many trays full of beetles (for scale the largest beetle in this group is around 4"/100mm long):

I love the vibrant diversity of colors in the collection. Very well preserved collection he has.

Many cosmetics pigments are made from those. Look at the beautiful colors, iridescence, and textures.
