It's winter in Australia, which means I've been noticing lovely light of late. I'm a new 7D owner and just ducked outside and saw this amazing sun peaking through a slight mid arvo haze.
I've been really drawn to photos with harsh light ( I'm not sure what to call it maybe it's vintage looking, remniscent of film days), big bokeh and blown looking highlights of late and am hoping to learn this type of look. Given I'm home alone, I only had my dog as a subject!
How did I do?

I'm a little disappointed in the sharpness. I did play with it a bit in Aperture, but didn't want to push it too far. Next time I'll be sure to shoot in RAW. I forgot this time
