Pre-Prom shots

My youngest daughter's senior prom was last night and and because I've become so involved with my camera (obsessed is the word most used around the house), I of course was called on to take some pictures before they headed out.

I'm not a portrait person and have had marginal success trying to do anything even semi-staged. Add to that I decided I should use my flash off-camera too.

We lucked out with the weather, squalls had moved through earlier but cleared out to some decent skies.

Any C&C is welcome and appreciated

In the first one, two of the couples appear to be looking at another photographer.

You're right, I guess you can tell where the various parents were standing. I really feel for the Pros trying to shoot groups, it's like herding cats.
