I'm trying to figure out whether I should calibrate and profile my monitor to L* gamma or 2.2. What do you have it set at?

Consumer level monitors have usually been optimized for G2.2 and on an 8 bit LUT trying to do L* will cause lost levels due to quantization errors. Elie / אלי

Hmm... I am currently using the HP ZR24w. I guess I should use 2.2 gamma then since it is 8 bit?

I just recalibrated to 2.2 anyways and I like the look better (surfing the web). For some reason, black was less "black" under L*. Guess it's all about the print though.
