Wettest 5k ever

I was scheduled to shoot a 5k charity road race over an hour from my home right on the coast - weather was forecast to be wet, but when I set off, it wasn't too bad. By the time I arrived at the venue, we were close to monsoon conditions, and within a couple more hours, it was epic ...

Still, 170 runners and walkers set off - I planted my little stool down, draped a kitchen towel over my 7d, 70-200 f/4 and 580exII with battery pack. For the record, the weather sealing on that setup is pretty good. I was soaked to the skin, even wearing water proof pants and jacket!

thanks - using HSS and a battery pack, I can usually get at least one lit shot of each runner - unless they come in clumps and I have to burst shoot. I would normally have the speedlite on a stand and a 30' ETTL cable to get more side lighting - but thanks to the weather, I didn't trust a stand, or the speedlite exposed, so just left it on the hot shoe.
