I just got back from NYC, where I spent 5 hours with Vincent Versace. I have visited his website and was wondering how he would be as a speaker in a classroom setting. His technical acumen is way above my learning skills.
I was very pleasantly surprised at how great of a speaker/teacher/entertaining person he is. He is personable, intelligent, witty, and shows each and every person close attention when answering a question, as though they are the only person in the room.
I have another 4 hour class with him tomorrow in B&W. I am more excited to be there tomorrow than I was today.
He also presented each person with an autographed photo he took in NYC, nice touch!
He critiqued some images today as well. This portion of the program really shows how much he cares about every individual. His critique was a positive, thoughtful, caring critique of how he would approach the image, from framing to composition, lighting, color, even processing.
