Are there any small, even table top sized telescopes that the 5D II can adapt too. Just looking to get shots of the moon every now and then. Thanks in advance.

A telephoto camera lens is nothing more than a refractor telescope..
Ever think of getting a decent longer lens for your 5D? 70mm is the longest in your collection?

lots of moon examples here, taken with mostly plain lenses, no scopes..

most longer camera lenses will give better quality images than the small cheap scopes..

Try a 400mm prime. That will do very nicely.

I got this with a 100-400mm Canon L series lens. http://asignobservatoryii.webs.com …s/photo?photoid=142068266 (external link)

I took this with a 55-250mm EF-S lens. Worked great.

Um yeah, that is pretty good. Maybe I can pick one of those up cheap.

Heh! Yes, the EF-S 55-250 is a great lens for the price, but it's not for full fame cameras!

Believe it or not, the EF 100-400 actually gives a lot of "bang for the buck", and you can also use it effectively with crop cameras to give your more "pixels on target".

Of course a good long L prime is pretty unbeatable IQ-wise, it's all in how "deep" your "pockets" are!

Duh, forgot about the EF-S. And my pockets aren't deep at all, especially for a lens that would see the least amount of use.

You should be able to pick a skywatcher ED80mm refracting telescope like the gold one pictured here (external link) for about $600. Awesome for Lunar.
