I see quite a few "white box" 24-105's for sale. Since I'm in the market for one I wondered If theres any difference between say a 24-105 bought with a 5D kit or one that was bought by itself?
Is the kit one grey market ?

Maybe it is from people who bought it in a kit with a camera, then go around to resell the lens seperately. It comes in a white box when you buy it in a kit with a camera...but its the same lens regardless.

No, they are the same lens. Check with the seller to verify that you have full warranty coverage.

The 5DMKIII kits were available in stores and online before body only options were available. A lot of folks (me) bought the kit versus waiting for the body only. So now you see a lot of them for sale as some folks (me) already had a 24-105.
