So after my XS kicked the bucket it was about a month before I was able to get my new camera body, and I decided on the T3i. I have to say I absolutely love it so far. Here's a few of my test shots from yesterday. Still getting used to it. It's wonderful to have a camera again, and I'm happy I can actually post a few pictures now! (sorry if they're kind of fuzzy, photobucket seems to distort the quality of the photos more than I thought they did.)

My son Xander.

I like 3, 5 and 6. In 5, I would have moved him to the other side of the frame, I always the subject looking into the frame, not out of it. But that's just my style. Nice composition and capturing emotion.

Thank you! I tried for the life of me to get him to look at me, and every time I moved into his line of sight he'd look away, almost like he KNEW I wanted a picture of him looking at the camera. Gotta love babies when they have a mind of their own. I would have liked for him to be looking at me as well.

A tip about Photobucket. If you're wanting to post a 600 by 400 image here on POTN, do your resizing before uploading the photo (to Photobucket). That way you're not at the mercy of their resizing algorithms and you control the way the picture looks at those dimensions.

Edit: Reviewing your Photobucket site, I see you've already resized the images before uploading them. The file size for your first picture is 32 KB. Should be at least double that for good quality. Whatever software you are using for the upload is affecting the quality by using too much compression.
