Nice shots, but that is Mr and Miss (or Master), the one on the right is a juvenile.

Yeah, I've got several juvi blackbirds, along with loads of juvi starlings and juvi goldfinches, greenfinches, blue tits, coal tits and great tits costing me a fortune in bird food at the moment. Not to mention all the adults of those and other species as well.

I have to say that some of the blackbird parents have become incredibly defensive this year. I've always seen them do a bit of chasing of other birds, but this year they seem to have taken martial arts classes or something and stepped it up a notch. They firstly hounded the pair of jays out of town, which until then had been regulars at my feeders several times a day. The last couple of days they were around they couldn't appear without being mobbed and there were some great battles going on lasting a couple of minutes sometimes chasing amongst the trees.

Then yesterday, I saw the local sparrowhawk dash across my garden and looked to see what it was chasing, then realised it wasn't chasing it was fleeing and had two blackbirds in close pursuit.

I'm quite surprised that the jackdaws haven't been targeted yet, but they seem to be ignoring them and happily feed alongside them.
