Since I'm new to the forum (and fairly inexperienced, always looking for constructive criticism), I thought I'd throw a few wildlife photos up. I don't have the benefit of zoos or parks but I do find many opportunities while out and about.

You win - catching animals in the wild always beats catching animals at a zoo. 5DMk2 + BG-E6 | 40D + BG-E2N | 350D + BG-E3 + RC-1 | Elan 7E | Minolta Dimage 7U | (Gear thread)

Jun 05, 2012 14:58 | #5 Thanks for the compliments folks. As for the park/zoo statement, I recognize that a huge percentage of wildlife photos are taken in scenarios like that and I'm fine with it. A great photo is a great photo and I appreciate the genius of the people who take great photos, regardless of the where or when (and I hope to some day be good enough to carry the camera bags of some of the photographers on this site). At times I really wish that I had spots where it was easier to practice and to learn my equipment but I simply don't. That said, it's amazing how much is out there if you forget your bias about what makes a good photo target and just start taking photographs.
