That's right, we are going to meetup on a Thursday.
Thursday June 14th.

We will meet at the Valencourt Fountain in Justin Herman Plaza at 7:45pm
There will be fire dancers performing their craft, starting around 8. It's an excellent opportunity to practice low light photography, extended shutter speeds, second curtain sync, or any other things you might like to try.

I would suggest a tripod and an external flash if you have one.

Who's coming? :)

Yeah, I was out there for a model get together.
I came back a few months ago as well. Have you been following The Adventures of the Photo Camel (external link)?
Warning! That link will take you to a different forum.

That's awesome! I will mos definitely be there! Need to learn more about low light photography.

I'm guessing my 50mm 1.4 would be an ideal lens for this shoot?

Yes it would. :D

For the sake of reference, the images I showed above were shot using a 50D with a 24-105 f/4.0 lens
They were shot using anywhere from f/5.6 to f/11.

And the flash that was used was on single flash or multi?

Ah! Excellent question! I was using a single 580EX. It was not set for High Speed Sync but for Second Curtain Sync.

On a couple of the shots, I did have the flash on the camera. But for most of them, I was using an off camera flash cord.
It is NOT neccesary, but if you have one, bring it.
