Got myself a Kenko TC

Just ordered one of these yesterday as well so watching this thread with interest

For me it does not look like 1/3 stop of overexposure ( that is what I understand from : 'it seems to overexpose a hair too') . It looks more like 1 full stop, even more. That does not bother me too much, just wanted to make sure that it is nothing wrong with my copy.

For all the others, if you need any samples in any of the combinations : 70-200 2.8 IS ( version 1) , Kenko 1.4x TC, Kenko 2x TC, let me know and I'll do that.

Yeah the "a hair" comment was wrong, Im noticing the same thing, it seems to be about 1 stop in my case, but it DOES seem consistent, I just dialed in -1 EC and it seems about right (I might need to pull a shot or two down in post but thats fine, i went with 1 stop because i was using higher ISOs and id rather pull the exposure down a tidge than push it any...) the good thing is if you shoot raw pulling an exposure is better than pushing on Canon so yeah... We'll see when i get to editing these on my pc however

Subscribing for the review. I want to get a 1.4x TC for my 70-200/4 IS too and since B&H is not carrying the Canon 1.4x II anymore the III is too rich for me.

I didn't wanna post this in your review thread so figured I would throw it here. For anyone who is curious, this teleconverter 100% autofocuses at F8. I attached it to my 400 5.6L on my T3i and not only did it autofocus, but it's hardly hesitant. I've read most people say that it needs a ton of light to work and I slapped it on inside my house with the shutters shut and it still autofocused. Not to mention I peronally don't think the IQ hit is much if anything at all. I couldn't be happier with it.

It is somehow weird. According to what is specified it should not work.
Well it works. But not with 16-35 mk1. Just in case someone wants to use this.

As a small review:
Bad things:
lot of color aberrations .
A bit concerned about the sturdiness of these small things.
Over exposure ( at least is constant).
Lens release button can be touched during normal operation.

Good things:
Pretty sharp in my opinion.
Easy to carry around.
Very cheap.
