A mother is attemptinmg to sue the makers of PAM (the cooking spray) because her son was using the can of PAM as a flame-thrower. He would shoot the pam past a cigarette lighter to ignite it. Unfortunately the stupid little freak got burned trying that stunt. The mom claims that there should have been a warning label on the can against using it as a flame thrower!

Along that line, automotive manufacturers should place signs against driving their vehicles off cliffs or into the on-coming traffic!

Whatever happened to parental responsibility? Parents used to teach their kids not to play with matches, cigarette lighters or fire in general. Seriously, it is up to the parents to teach their little brats not to do stupid things like that.

If you put a warning on the can, to cover every possible eventuality of somebody doing something totally stupid, there would be so much writing on the can you would need a magnifying glass to read it.

"Warning: during use of this hammer, be sure that fingers or skulls will not be in the path of the hammer, or physical harm may result."

"Warning: Parents should not allow their children to sniff the contents of this aerosol can of hairspray."

I think the courts and all manufacturers should follow a general rule of thumb for product labelling:
"The manufacturer will not be responsible for any damage or injury or death resulting from use of this product in a manner not labeled, and/or is contrary to good common sense."

Caution: Cruise Control does not steer or brake for you. (though some newer high end models do stop and go for you in stop and go traffic, of course a HUGE disclaimer comes on the screen letting you know that you should still put your foot on the brake pedal, ya know, just in case)

I was blown away when I saw one of those large plastic containers with a warning not to put a baby in it and close. Complete with drawing of a baby and the red NO symbol, drawn through him.

Sounds like baby carriers need a symbol advising NOT to put the carrier and baby on the roof of the car and driving off (like one female dolt did recently)

LoL this has gotten really off topic but did anyone see the lady that strapped the gas can into the baby seat instead of the baby?

I've seen a baby buggy with the warning that you must remove the baby before folding the buggy up to put it away.

I also love packets of peanuts that warn "may contain traces of nuts" and the sleeping tablets that warn "caution: may cause drowsiness".

How about the screwdriver set with a warning not to insert the screwdriver into your manhood.

One I had forgotten about, because I have seen it so often I ignore it. Not so much a warning but instructions for use. When my current works wagon arrived (I run a mobile library) there are instructions on the drivers door for how to gain access.

Above the door handle are the words, in large lettering:

To Open:
Pull Handle
Pull Door

And just in case there is still some confusion after reading that, the word PULL is embossed into the door handle and painted red (or it was, but the paint has worn away now).

How stupid do people have to be, to not work out for themselves that they get into the vehicle by pulling the door handle.

You'd be surprised. I used to manage a restaurant. I had a kid that would stick his head in the oven (600* brick oven) to look at his food and see if it was done yet. Despite searing the hair off of the back of his head doing that, he reached into the oven with his bare hand just a few minutes later to pull his sandwich out.

I was firing off a Steyr AUG at full auto (blank rounds) and one of the casings was caught in the ejection port and I stupidly tried to yank it out.

ouch.
