I was firing off a Steyr AUG at full auto (blank rounds) and one of the casings was caught in the ejection port and I stupidly tried to yank it out.

ouch.

I bet that was very painful! :p

I had the flash on camera pointing back to a wall.

My hair was touching it and when the flash went off, I could smell my hair burning.

Manufactures and other companies need to stop different warning labels on everything, and just go with one warning label.

Warning: If you are one of the many stupid dumb @sses, who use this product in a way not intended and you manage to be dumb enough to injure yourself with said product do not come crying to us, try to sue us, etc... If you do something stupid go see your mom and ask her to B*tch slap you for being the idiot you are.

Granted if a company did use that label they would probably have a number of angry letters (all from the idiots who would use the item in an inappropriate way or a way that could injure themselves or others), you have to admit that the warning label would cover everything in one go.

Though along the lines of the above warnings others have posted that are common sense I actually have/had a manual for a firearm that stated in bug bold red letters on the first page

Warning; The Firearm that this manual goes to is a dangerous item that can Kill if not used properly. Please use properly and follow all safety guidelines in order to avoid injury, or death, to ones self or to others.

Warning; the edges of this manual may cause paper cuts if one is not careful.

Nah...

However, someone would certainly sue for discrimination against those with common sense...

And you know someone would!

Yeah, but if it was one of the ones with "common sense" that was doing the suing, then we know that they don't have common sense. Anyone with common sense would take one look at that warning and laugh because the know there are idiots out there that would still read the warning and use the product in a way it could injure themselves of others, then complain that the product was defective because they were injured.

For those with nut allergies, a jar of JIF peanut butter has no warning, "May Contain Peanuts" :D

Couple of questions....
- Can you give yourself a tan with a 580EX (there must be some UV emitted in the blast?)
- Can a campfire be started with a 580EX (might be better than rubbing two sticks together)

Megapixels and high ISO are a digital photographers heroin. Once you have a little, you just want more and more. It doesn't stop until your bank account is run dry.

The 580EX will burn itself out before you can get sufficient sustained heat, as even with external battery pack you have to wait for full power recycle (preventing campfire tinder from catching, but the heat accumulation within the 580EX will burn the flash out).
The 580EXII will slow itself down due to its thermal protection, even more preventing campfire tinder from catching
