Found this by accident. It used to be a small town out in west Texas. Now, it's essentially just one fairly large general store. This was the The Johnson Grocery store, established in 1907. No signs of life anywhere around and it's eerily silent. It's also full of rattlesnakes too!

Aside from a few leftover modern things, you nearly found yourself a "mini Bodie!"

Very cool...!

That main counter would probably sell for enough to finance that 1DX!
(Not that I endorse random acts of vandalism mind you...)

Reminds me of the movie Children of the Corn for some odd reason.

I thought the same thing Jay did about the counter.

I actually thought "Man, that bar would look awesome in my tiki bar!!"

Great set you have here

You know Allen, I would... and I probably should have stuck around (I was there right at sunset) but I had planned targets that were still a good ways away, so I got my shots here and then got back on the road. In hindsight, I should have stayed here, and then made my way towards El Paso (my eventual destination this night, was White Sands, NM). Instead, I went backwards into Marfa, and then back up to I-40 to hit Toyah and some Chata Ortega's (the bar from Fandango).

I may try and get back out this way again, but it's almost 11-12 hours to get here and now it's summer... so no way! LOL

Neat pictures! I would love to have that desk. Heck..The whole building, while looking at the pictures I was thinking to myself what I could do with the place. I would love to find an old ghost town around here to photograph.
