So I took some photos at my friends friends bands gig the other night, first time I've done live music... Thanks for looking!

Thanks! It was strange, the main stage wasn't used at all, so the only lights were the red and purple you can see.

Lighting in the smaller venues is always a challenge - and without flash, your best weapons are high-iso (I'll bet you can go a bit higher with your 60d - these look fine at 1600) and get a f/1.8 or f/1.4 lens.
I like 3 & 4 the most, good set.

I would never go higher than ISO1600, a good alternative is to get either 1.8 or 1.4, but since you will be on a budget, don't go for the L series, just too expensive

Saying that, I went to ISO2500 on Thursday because of the terrible lighting, lol

there's just not enough lighting where you need it....as it's yr friend's band, next time see if you can put up a flash or two and trigger them from your camera.

if 2500 is your limit, you're going to have a lot of dark photos:lol: To the OP, small clubs are usually lighting challenged and you've just got to deal with it.
