Today is one of the best day ever for me :). Ok I'm exaggerating a bit. My wife told me that she saw a hummingbird in our garden this morning. I have a feeder since February and I have not seen 1 so this really excites me.

My question is, is it good to put the feeder near my other bird feeder where the chickadees, house finches and juncos go?

I hope that now that the rufous hummingbird had discovered my wife's beautiful garden, that he will come back every now and then :)

I'm not familiar with Rufous Hummingbirds and how well they are with other birds near by but my Ruby-throated Hummingbirds don't like other birds zipping around. The juvenile Hummers will chase Chickadees and Goldfinches but the adults don't care for other birds.

I have my feeder out in the open but near other food sources for them and away from the regular bird feeder.

Thanks Duane. I have moved the feeder further away from the "backyard" birds feeder.
