any lowlight image samples from 60d users with iso1600-3200 @f 2.8 or f4?

I took these at a wedding the day after i got my lens. Both over ISO2000 but shot raw so these arent SOOC.

I guess of the two 40mm threads - we're allowed to chat it up in this one more than the 'official lens sample one' so I'll post and hang-out here...

took the Hotcake for a walk for the first time in a while, nice popping on a prime as it gets the creative juices going...

employed a few Lr presets I created a while ago... #1 is original of course, #2 is my simulated Intrared

This is the lens that can make this camera tolerable for carrying around.

There's a EOS utility upgrade (2.12.0) which included 40 STM's peripheral correction. I updated my 5d3 and the "dark corners" are no longer as apparent.

http://usa.canon.com …rk_iii#DriversAndSoftware (external link)

Can I use this version of EOS if I only have a 7D?
Will it work fine with my firmware version 2.03 [latest 7D firmware].
I only ask as when I upgraded my camera firmware it told me to Also upgrade EOS Utilities - so as its my 1st canon - do you have to keep them in sync for each camera?

Being cautious as everything works fine right now.

It should be OK to upgrade. Generally there is a minimum version needed and newer versions also work. The latest version is working fine for me with my 7D on Windows 7 64 bit. Canon has added more lenses to the aberration correction list in this version including the 40mm STM.

On Windows XP, however, support for some of the oldest DSLRs has been dropped so an older version is required for these cameras.

I felt that same way, and just ordered mine. I already have a 50mm 1.8 but for the price and size.

Went to a dance performance last night. Wanted to try out the 50MM 1.4, but it was too tight. Popped on the 40MM:

I like it - seems more like motion blur vs OOF. Its dramatic...

Will this be usable for handheld video?
I'm guessing it doesn't have IS, but since it's so small and light, maybe it would be easier to hold the camera still?

I'm a photography student, so please excuse me If my questions seem stupid or basic.
